Canada Day 3

Alright, only a few more centimeters overnight, but apparently 15cm can feel like 1-2 feet. Today was sweet! These are the mini-fingers. Still needs a bit more snow for me to be comfortable running some of the bigger ones. The top is both steep and icy.

Always remember to start your day with proper stretching. Going out cold is very dangerous.

Visibility is crucial when you are leading around a bunch of hacks.

So after 5 or 6 amazing runs, we got a bit greedy and wanted some more. We decided to go for a little hike up to the flute bowl where the rewards looked much better. Visibility was on and off with clouds moving in and out pretty quickly. The cornice here is almost 30 feet and those little boulders are actually couch sized and bigger. Watch out!

Here are two of my favorite runs of the day. The first was sweet with some nice spines and deep deep snow and a little drop or two out. The second even deeper up top with a nice little drop midway down to a fun straightline. Lots of compression at the bottom

After a lot of riding (again, amazing slush at the bottom, so much fun) some drinks were in order. We got a few discounted tickets for later in the week from an employee, so saving money is sweet. After drinking, pizza followed. I’m full.

This guy here wins the flair award.

I’m tired, so I’m going for a lot of sleep tonight. We’ll do some more hiking tomorrow, then dunno what wednesday. Another bigger storm is supposed to move in later in the week.
