Canada Day 7

Alright, we’re done riding whistler. Today ended up being a lot of fun despite only 2cm or so overnight. Visibility was variable today, with some sun and some heavy clouds. We did a few runs off Harmony then went over to Symphony to check out Flute again and see if any good snow was left. A bunch of noobs had hiked up but all continued along the ridge to the west and south facing slopes, leaving all the beautiful north facing snow fresh and deep. A little wind had blown the past few days getting rid of some of the cornice and buffing out the slope. We did 3 awesome runs here, easily the best snow on the mountain. We wanted to do a 4th but one of the chairs on symphony had a broken footrest, so we got stuck about 10 minutes as they fixed it, and not enough time was left for the big hike lap.

So that’s it. We fly out tomorrow evening, but out bus is about noon, so not enough time for another day on the hill. We cruised the village a bit tonight. It was a little more lively with the weekend crowd arriving, but we are pooped after a lot of hard riding and hiking. Back to Cupertino for a day sunday, then school resumes monday, with hard weeks of classes, then finals. So its going to be busy.
